If you have elected to pay using Direct Debit, you authorise and request the Fines Enforcement and Recovery Unit (APCA User ID Number 77422) to arrange for funds to be debited from your account at the financial institution identified and as prescribed through the Bulk Electronic Clearing System (

Scams and alerts
These types of scams try to trick people into paying a fake fine, tell them that they no longer owe fines or state debts and sometimes try to get people to disclose their personal information such as credit card or bank account details which can compromise personal information.
Legislation
The Fines Enforcement and Debt Recovery Act 2017 (the Act) commenced 30 April 2018 and provisions relating to the recovery of state debts commenced 1 February 2019.
