The Fines Unit will no longer be sending cheques

The use of cheques is being phased out by the Commonwealth Government, and the Fines Unit will cease issuing cheques from 31 October 2025. All payments will now be made via electronic funds transfer (EFT). If you have been awarded an amount by the court (or have received a previous payment from the Fines Unit) you should ensure your bank account details and email address are up to date with us. Get in touch to provide your details so that when payment is received it can be transferred to your bank account promptly.

There are many ways to pay a fine including online and by phone.

Have your fine notice handy when you want to pay, and be ready to quote your fine reference (in the top right of your notice).
