Scams and Alerts

Every day, scammers send out spam emails, text messages and make phone calls to random, unbeknownst recipients for the purposes of being deceitful to innocent people. The subject of these scams can sometimes be fines related.

These types of scams try to trick people into paying a fake fine and to disclose their personal information such as credit card or bank account details which can compromise personal information.

If you are the recipient of an email, text message, or a phone call relating to fines which you suspect might be from an untrustworthy source or a hoax, contact the Fines Enforcement and Recovery Unit immediately.

For more information about how to spot hoax or spam scammers, check out Scamwatch.
