Payment Arrangements

A payment arrangement application fee of $18.70 will apply on new expiation notices.

Payment arrangements are available to help spread your payments over a longer period.

This means you can make regular weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payments to manage your amount owing along with other expenses in your household budget. Minimum payments will depend on the total amount owing and payment frequency.

Request a Payment Arrangement

You can request a payment arrangement today over the phone on 1800 659 538, via Fines Online Services, or by using the form below.

By entering an arrangement you will expiate the offence(s), and you acknowledge that you can no longer elect to be prosecuted, nor apply for a review on the ground the notice is trifling.

There are conditions to setting up a payment arrangement, including the upfront payment of any required application fee. People or organisations that have defaulted on previous arrangements may find that the Fines Unit will not accept a request for an arrangement. This is assessed on a case-by-case basis.

How to pay in instalments

Once you have set up your Payment Arrangement, you can pay instalments via the following methods:

  • via Direct Debit from your financial account
  • over the phone on 1800 659 538 (MasterCard or Visa)
  • online at Fines Online Services (MasterCard or Visa)
  • in person at any Australia Post office, or at a Service SA Customer Service Centre
  • through a regular debit from your Centrelink payments.

Setting up Direct Debit payments

Once you have set up an arrangement, you can set up a regular Direct Debit from your financial accounts, to make sure that you don't miss any payments.

Add a fine to my existing payment arrangement

You can apply to add a new fine to your existing payment arrangement (fee may apply); however, this will mean your required regular payment amounts will increase. You can apply via our online payment site, or over the phone on 1800 659 538. You don't have to wait for a fine to be overdue to request a payment arrangement; however, if your fine is not yet overdue you may be asked to provide a copy of your notice.

If you are experiencing difficulty

Please call us on 1800 659 538 if you are experiencing severe difficulty paying your overdue fines.

You can avoid enforcement actions such as suspension of driver's licence or clamping of your car, if you manage your fines by calling us and letting us know of your situation.
